High CPU load after Windows 24H2 update?

After installing the Windows 24H2 update, Windows Firewall & Security may not be fully reconfigured, which can result in unusual high CPU load.

Try the following steps:

⚠️ Warning: After this procedure, Remote Desktop may stop working and may need to be re‑enabled.

  1. Firewall:
    Select “Restore default policies”

  2. Windows Security:
    Go to “Firewall & network protection” → switch it off once → then on again
