go2monitor Options

go2monitor

go2monitor is a modular, configurable, and scalable platform that covers the entire COMINT and radio‑signal‑monitoring workflow. It replaces slow, incomplete, and labor‑intensive manual processes with an automated, flexible solution that delivers fast and reliable results. Using commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) components reduces delivery times and lets you evaluate the software upfront—minimizing risk and speeding up deployment.

Key Facts

  • VLF, LF, HF, VHF, UHF, SHF — all in one solution
  • Automatic multi‑channel data and voice processing
  • Signal classification with built‑in modem detection
  • Speech‑to‑text with optional English translation
  • Hardware‑agnostic COTS solution
  • Multiple coherent broadband inputs up to 200 MHz
  • Panoramic spectrum overview (receiver‑dependent)
  • Extensive, expandable decoder library
  • Regular updates — two releases per year
  • Runs on Windows or Linux

Options

go2MONITOR offers a wide range of optional modules that can be ordered to extend the system’s capabilities.
New extensions for advanced DF functionality will be released very soon.
Additional options available from shoc include:

  • Antenna control
  • HF database
  • Reporting tools
  • Network analysis

WCL, Wideband Input & Classifier Option

This option increases the input and classifier bandwidth to 2.4 MHz on HF and 10 or 20 MHz on VHF/UHF.

It enables automatic detection and classification for all signals within the available bandwidth. The results are shown in the GUI and can be used directly for further processing. Two additional wideband‑classification modes are included:

  • Stepping: Works with all supported wideband receivers. The system cycles through predefined frequency ranges in a round‑robin manner. For each range, the receiver stays for a defined dwell time, performs detection, classification, and task actions, and then moves to the next range.
  • Scanning: Available when the broadband receiver supports a fast panorama scan (e.g., IZT R3xxx). The system first performs a wideband scan across the frequency range relevant to the active tasks. A rapid energy detection identifies potential signals, and the system checks whether these detected frequencies match the requirements of any active task.

WBR, Wideband Recording Option

This option lets go2MONITOR record 10 or 20 MHz wideband IQ data in real time with no quality loss. A dedicated wideband‑recording component handles the data stream and writes it directly to disk.

Recordings can be scheduled, reviewed, and edited in the Recording Editor. You can select individual signals or groups of signals for further processing, and export single or multiple signals into new files that can be reused as input in go2MONITOR.

The FFT of the recorded spectrum is stored together with the IQ data to enable fast spectrum display and navigation.

NRC, Narrowband Receiver Control Option

With the NRC option, hand‑off receivers can be assigned directly to an decoding channel.
Using additional high‑quality narrowband receivers offers several advantages:

  • Better sensitivity
  • Use of dedicated antennas
  • Monitoring of fixed frequencies
  • Lower resource usage (no DDC required)
  • Ability to monitor signals in different frequency ranges

HOPD, Hopper Detection Option

This option enables automatic detection of FHSS (frequency‑hopping) signals in I/Q data streams and files. The Hopper Detection Unit identifies frequency‑hopping emissions across multiple bands.
The software consists of:

  • Multiple subband processors, each handling one receiver subband
  • A hop combiner that merges all subband results and sends the output to the ResultViewer

If a frequency hopper is detected, it is reported together with all relevant hop parameters. The system detects up to 1000 hops/s in VHF/UHF and provides dwell time, hop bandwidth, hop rate, and more.

Required are AMT and WCL for BW>1MHz

DF, Direction Finding

go2monitor is ready to interface with external direction finders. Support for the NARDA ADFA is included, and additional devices can be integrated by extending the provided Python interface.

  • Add additional functions for querying and displaying measured values from direction finder hardware received via an external interface
  • Adaptable scripting interface for connecting a wide range of direction finders with scripting function available
  • Read out and save measured results from the direction finders (bearing angle, time, frequency, bandwidth, etc.)
  • Start a bearing in production channel for a manually selected signals
  • Automatic start of a bearing when certain signals are detected (AMT option is required)
  • Displaying the bearing beams on the map

AMT, Automatic Monitoring & Tasking Option

The AMT option provides a user‑configurable, mission‑focused automatic signal search.
Depending on the task, signals are automatically detected, classified, demodulated, and decoded based on defined criteria.

  • A mission wizard guides the user through defining all required tasks.
  • Results are stored in a database for later analysis.
  • During a mission, the interface shows the spectrogram, FFT, and task activity.
  • Results can be viewed in tabular or graphical form and analyzed in the advanced ResultViewer while monitoring continues.
  • Automatic and manual channels can operate side by side.
  • Missions can be defined for offline processing, separating real‑time recording from later narrowband classification and decoding—enabling faster‑than‑real‑time processing.
  • The Live Processing task type is included as a standard feature in all go2monitor versions operating in snapshot mode.

MIL & PMR Options

MIL Option

  • Decoder for MIL, STANAG, LINK-11 etc. are optional and require End User Certificate EUC) outside Germany.
  • Please refer to the specifications for the list of MIL decoders.

PMR Option

  • Decoder for TETRA, TETRAPOL, NXDN, PMR, APCO25 etc. are optional and require End User Certificate EUC) outside EU.
  • Please refer to the specifications for the list of PMR decoders.

WMPC, Wideband Multi Production Channel Option

You can scale go2monitor to produce 16/32 (or up to several hundred) channels in parallel within the wideband receiver’s frequency range.

  • A wideband input (e.g., 20 MHz) requires automatic, simultaneous processing of many signals, so the number of processing channels must increase accordingly.
  • The available channels depend on the license and the system’s computing power.
  • Processing channels can be set to offline processing, separating real‑time recording from later narrowband classification and decoding. Recorded files are then processed at up to 4× real‑time speed.

AUDIO-32, Additional 32 Channels Audio Option

This option adds 32 audio channels (or a multiple of 32)

  • Additional 32 exclusive DDC channels for:
    • Classification
    • Demodulation of analog audio (LSB, USB, AM, FM or WFM with squelch function)
    • Recording
    • Saving results in the database
  • Audio buffering (default 30 min) with playback from position, in loop, noise skip and changed speed
